Thomas J. Thibodeaux, age 78, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Tommy was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the second of five sons. After graduating from Baton Rouge High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971, spending three and a half years stationed in Vietnam. His service was a memorable time in his life and shaped the man he would become. In 1973, Tommy moved to Alaska, where he lived for seven adventurous years before returning to Baton Rouge, the city he always called home. Here, he built a lasting legacy by owning and operating a masonry business for many decades. Tommy was also an avid fisherman and hunter, passions that kept him close to nature throughout his life. He is survived by his children, Tami Stricker, Wade Thibodeaux, and Brett Thibodeaux; his grandchildren, Burke and Bode Stricker, and Gage and Tate Thibodeaux; and his brothers, Jimmy, Ronnie, Mike, and Ned Thibodeaux. He will be missed by many other loving family members and friends. Tommy is preceded in death by his grandson, Reed Stricker; and his parents, Buddy and Ruth Thibodeaux. The family would like to thank Greenoaks Funeral Home for handling the arrangements. Tommy’s kindness, fun loving nature, hard work, and adventurous spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. A memorial gathering will be on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Lauryn Hope, 18380 Alligator Bayou, Prairieville, LA 70769.
