
He was the building director of St. James Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge. Tyler died Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 52. Tyler attended Jesuit High School in New Orleans and was one of their National Merit Scholars. He graduated from Tara High School in Baton Rouge, where he had moved to in 1975. He attended LSU for several years and was in the LSU Tiger Band. Visitation at St. James Episcopal Church on Monday, March 14, from 10 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at noon, conducted by the Rev. Mark Holland and the Rev. Maryann Garrett. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. He will be cremated, according to his wishes. Tyler is survived by his mother, Jane M. Ellison, of Baton Rouge; sister, Cherie Ellison Miestchovich Lewis, of Baton Rouge; family friend, Donny Short; brother, Stephen Paul Ellison and wife Christine Ellison, of Ponchatoula; nephew, Ryan Miestchovich and wife Jill; great-nephew, Parker; nephew, Ray Miestchovich and wife Catherine; great-niece, Aydyn; nephew, Kirk Manso; niece, Stephanie Manso and her fiancé, J.Q. Dick; great-nephew, Conrad Manso; and several aunts and cousins. Thanks to Dr. William Boedefeld, Dr. Paul Garrett, Dr. Denzil Moraes, Dr. Jeff Moonan and all the nurses in the cardiac unit at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
