Vera Ballard

Vera Ballard went to heaven leaving her loving dedicated husband of 72 years, Joseph Leo Ballard. She told him numerous times every single day that she loved him to the bottom of her heart. They were blessed to have each other and their children and their spouses, Alvin and Katie Ballard of Denham Springs, Bruce and Sherry Ballard of Baton Rouge, and Rita and Jerry Wilson of Vidor, Texas; their 4 grand-daughters and their husbands, Brandy and Brendon Rush of Baton Rouge, Burgundy and Paul Cummings of Baton Rouge, Donna and JR Bowden of Vidor, Texas and Tammy and Scott Hall of Dallas, Texas and their 9 great-grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. She was a kind gentle soul and she will be missed dearly by all those that she knew and loved. Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. starting at 10:00am with services in the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm. Brendan Rush will sing Danny Boy, interment to follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park with the Celtic Society of Louisiana Bagpipes playing of Amazing Grace. The family wishes to give special thanks to good neighbors Chester and Myra, also her home health care nurse Tracy Roussel. Pallbearers to be Joe Cannon, Brendan Rush, Paul Cummings, Scott Hall, JR Bowden and Rodney Sanchez.
