Victor Joseph Sylvester

Victor Joseph Sylvester was born on November 27, 1955 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and died August 9, 2016 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was the third child of Louis Edward and Mary Canino Sylvester. Vick is survived by a sister, Anne Elizabeth Sylvester Cramer; three brothers: Louis Edward Sylvester, Jr., Thomas Charles Sylvester and wife Marie, Sam Anthony Sylvester; a niece, nephews, numerous cousins and his best friend Colleen Hill. He was preceded in death by mother, Mary Canino Sylvester; father, Louis Edward Sylvester; sister, Katherine Mary Sylvester; maternal grandmother, Paulina Solito Canino; maternal grandfather, Andrea Charles Canino; paternal grandmother, Alice Sylvester Wentz; paternal grandfather, George Wentz; and his father’s maternal grandmother, Anna Elizabeth Peters Sylvester. Vick was a 1973 graduate of Redemptorist High School and owner of Sylvester’s Optical Dispensary. Vick was a dedicated LSU Tiger fan and game Marshall. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815 from 5pm to 8pm on Friday August 12, 2016. Rosary will be led by the Knights of Columbus at 6:30pm. Visitation will resume Saturday August 13, 2016 from 9am to 10 am followed by a Catholic service and burial led by Deacon Ricky Patterson at 10am at Greenoaks Cemetary. Pallbearers will be members of the LSU Marshall staff.
