Virgie Lavilla Williams Hutchinson passed on to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 24, 2013. She was 93 years old. Visitation Wednesday, February 27, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zoar Baptist Church. Visitation again Thursday 9AM until services at 11AM. Burial to follow in Zoar Cemetary. Services by Dr. Kevin Hand and Reverend Jared Hill. Rabenhorst Funeral Home in charge of Arrangements. Born September 26, 1919 in Baton Rouge, she was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Tillou Williams, Sr. of Port Hudson, Louisiana, and Lola Emma Haacks Williams of Rodney, Mississippi. Her brothers, whose love she treasured all her life, passed on before her, leaving a legacy of integrity, honesty, and faith that ran through her family. Francis T. ("Tootsie") Wllliams, Jr. and Leonard M. ("Buzz") Williams were important influences in her life even after they passed before her. Her strong Christian faith and sunny personality made her a beloved member of the Zoar Baptist Church and Central City community where she resided with her husband, Gordon Herbert Hutchinson, Sr. She was a graduate of business college, and a 1936 graduate of Central High School-and one of the first cheerleaders for CHS. She and Gordon moved back to the Central community in 1962 where she saw her three children, Gordon Jr., Francis, and Lola Hutchinson Hill all graduate from Central High. Known for her beautiful singing voice, she was a member of the Zoar Church Choir and loved her many Sunday School friends. She passed her love of music to her daughter from an early age. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Gordon Sr., and her three children: Gordon Jr., and wife Mary Thompson Hutchinson; Francis, and wife Elizabeth (Bootsy) Olsen Hutchinson; and Lola, and her husband Derrell Hill. Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren enriched her life nearly as much as she enriched theirs. The grandchildren, Christopher Hutchinson, Reverend Jared Hill, Jeremy Hill, Hunter Hutchinson, Brent Railey, and Jessica Lynn Hutchinson will act as pallbearers for their adored grandmother. She is also survived by a myriad of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. The family especially wants to thank her nurse and dear friend Cheri Richard with Bridgeway Hospice for her concern, friendship, and professional care. Also, many thanks to nurse Denise Sandstrum, and caregiver Tiffany Watson for their kindnesses, and loving care.
