Wade Anthony Barbay entered into eternal peace on August 20, 2023. He was born on August 28, 1962 in Baton Rouge, LA. He is survived by his three children, Brooke Barbay, Layton Barbay, Taylor Barbay Assad and husband Mark; and his grandchildren, Benjamin and Cameron Assad. Wade loved listening to music and especially loved hearing his children sing and play the piano or saxophone. He was very proud of his children and adored his grandsons. Wade was an avid LSU sports fan and enjoyed kayak fishing. He was a member of the Bayou Coast Kayak Fishing Club, where he won the championship within the first year.
He is also survived by his mother, Joan Lato Barbay; brothers, Mike Barbay (Kathy), Greg Barbay (Donna); and sister, Stacy Barbay; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph (Sonny) Barbay, Jr. A visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am.
