
Wallace Y. Easley Sr., a native of Picayune, Miss., and resident of Baton Rouge, was called home Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at age 85 at his residence. Mr. Wallace was a retired butcher having worked at LSU for 25 years and was an Army veteran. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., was held Thursday, July 22, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting will continue at the funeral home chapel Friday, July 23, from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Al Moore. Burial will follow at New Zion Cemetery in Kentwood at 1 p.m. He is survived by four daughters, Shirley Easley Blue, Lena Godso and husband Jerry, Ann Sparks and husband Richard, and Lynn Sparks and husband Glenn; two sons, Sidney Easley and wife Brenda and Wallace Y. Easley Jr.; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lena Mae Easley; a grandchild, Stacey Blue; a son-in-law, Thomas Blue; two sisters and three brothers. Pallbearers will be Sidney Easley, Wallace Easley Jr., Tommy Blue III, Trey Easley, Chris Easley, Randy Aldridge and James Hoover. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Godso and Glynn Sparks. Mr. Easley was a member of American Legion Nicholson Post No. 38, where he served on the flag committee. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Randy Aldridge for the support shown to Mr. Easley during his life. His new life has now begun.
