A native and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 1:30 p.m.Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Our Lady of theLakeRegionalMedicalCenterafter a long-term illness. He was 52 and was retired. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday was from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m.Visiting resumes at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday from 8 a.m.until religious service at noon, conducted by Jim Gross, pastor. He is survived by his father, Kelly M. Santangelo; former spouse, Cynthia G. Santangelo; daughter, Kristen Mikel Santangelo; two sons, Wallace K. Santangelo Jr. and fiancée Dina Romeo, and Micah A. Santangelo; sister, Kathy Mathews and husband Leonard; brother, Mickey Santangelo and wife Brenda; granddaughter, Madison Steinart; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie G. Santangelo. Honorary pallbearers are Wallace Jr., Micah, Kip and Matt Santangelo, Thomas Mathews and Jerry Lee Duplantis. He was a graduate ofCentralHigh Schooland was an avid LSU Tigers fan.
