Walter “Walkie” John Vignes passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at the age of 73. He was a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Walter was a graduate of Redemptorist High School, class of 1968. He was a Master Plumber and owner of Vignes Plumbing. He was also an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. Walter enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching LSU football and baseball, and spending time with family and friends. Walter is survived by his children, Scott Kendall Vignes and Ashley Vignes Mayeaux and husband Donald; grandchildren, Cade Vignes, Kynlee Vignes and Braxtyn and Braylon Mayeaux; siblings, Hilary Vignes, Kay Reed, Betty Patin and Mary Alvarez; along with a host of other family members.He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis “Chubby” Kendall Vignes and Nellie McNemar Vignes. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 12:00pm-2:00pm with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00pm.
