

She was born on April 25, 1932, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Louis Otto Pennington and Mary Edwards Pennington. She had 3 siblings: Louis “Jr” Pennington, Inez Cook and Sylvia Hoyt.
Wanzie was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church. She was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and served as a Sunday School teacher for a time. She taught so many the Word and loved to share the scripture John 15:12 “This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.” She loved the Lord and her family immensely. She was often found in faithful prayer for each of them. She was married to her childhood sweetheart and best friend, Floyd Willis Guy on June 10, 1950. They were married for 67 beautiful years before he passed in 2017. The Guy’s are survived by their 3 children: one daughter, Kristy Guy and two sons, Floyd Milton Guy & wife Cina, and Gary Louis Guy & wife Roberta; along with many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, all whom she loved.
Wanzie is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, siblings and a precious granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Sprouse.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 9am with Services immediately following at noon, at GreenOaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Wanzie was a wonderful and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is so loved and will be dearly missed by all.
