Wayne was a graduate of Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge & Southeastern University in Hammond, LA. He began his career with the State of Louisiana as an accountant with the Department of Revenue and retired as an accountant with the Department of Corrections.
He had a love for all things to do with radios. Wayne had a collection of cb radios, shortwave radios, and police scanners. When he wasn’t listening to those, he could be found listening to his expansive collection of music ranging from big bands, 50s, swamp pop, and country. Wayne was a big LSU fan enjoying many years of games and tailgating with his “Football Crew”, a love that has extended and continues to this day with his children, nieces, and nephews. He loved trivia. He would ask anyone around his trivia questions and had recently become a contributor in his retirement community paper with a trivia corner. Most of all, he loved his family. He dedicated his retirement to taking care of his wife, Shirley, until she passed in 2021. He was always there for his children and grandchildren, bringing many laughs and good times.
