Wayne Monroe "Sully" Sullivan, 70, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Pride, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday, April 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving wife and family. In his younger years, he attended Southeastern Louisiana University where he played football for the Lions. He was a proud Army Veteran and retired member of Ironworkers Union Local 623. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Journey Church where he regularly served. He enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling with his bride and getting into trouble with his Southeastern buddies. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 6pm – 9pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70815. Visitation will resume on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 10am until funeral service begins at 12pm. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Barbara Ann Sullivan; two sons, Jason Sullivan and wife, Amy of Gonzales, Kelly Sullivan and wife, Kacie of Central; seven grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Maverick, Maddox, Maci Kaye, Brantley and Gaines; and two brothers, Randy Sullivan and Mark Sullivan and his wife Michelle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hasral M. “Buddy” Sullivan and Bobbie C. “Bootsie” Sullivan, and in-laws, Vernon Leroy McKinney and Ann D. McKinney. Pallbearers are Lynn Day, David LeSage, Randy McKinney, Branden Bowman, Jason Sullivan and Kelly Sullivan. Honorary pallbearers are Kurt Amond and Ronnie Terrell.
