

"Wilbert Warren DeCuir, Sr. entered eternal life at St. Joseph's Hospice Carpenter House surrounded by his family at 2:21 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He was 88 years old, a native and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge. He was a master carpenter. Affectionately known as "Bologna" and "Lump", Warren never met a stranger, and was warm and welcoming to all. A devout Catholic, he was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He had a tremendous devotion to the Virgin Mary and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Rosary Club. Visitation will be at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 10:00. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Ann DeCuir and Deborah D. Moore (Willie, Sr.) of Baton Rouge; two sons, Wilbert Warren "Buck" DeCuir, Jr. (Georgia Holloway), and Gaston Joseph DeCuir (Maria) of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Willie J. Moore, Jr. and Wesley J. Moore of Baton Rouge, Jamal D. Willis of Eunice, LA, and Ian J. DeCuir and Ivan J. DeCuir of Baton Rouge; four great-granddaughters, Jalynn Moore of Spring, TX, McKenzie Moore and Keegan Moore of Baton Rouge, and Madison DeCuir of Chicago, IL; one sister, Joyce DeCuir Cook of Baton Rouge, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark Anthony Sr. and Gussie M. DeCuir; his wife of 66 years, Eunice Braud DeCuir, one brother, six sisters, one sister-in-law, nine brothers-in-law, and a grandson, Warren Joseph DeCuir.
