The passing of a legacy. William Weldon McInnis passed away on the morning of April the 29th. Without question, he had lived a wonderful happy life of 84 years. He and his wife Lessie, of 49 years marriage, produced four wonderful boys, Beau, Skipper, Mark, and Todd. All were he and Lessie's pride and joy. They in turn have produced eight exceptional grandchildren, Amy, Melissa, William, Reed, Mary, Beth, Toddy and Chase. Three great-grandchildren Isaac, Aralynn, and Reegan also made him smile. Weldon was "old Baton Rouge". He graduated from Baton Rouge High and was a LSU cheerleader. As a car dealership owner, he provided automobiles for many families in Baton Rouge and was the proverbial salesman over his long productive career. His passion for fishing and the out-of-doors was only surpassed by his love for his wife, Lessie. Weldon will be remembered for his many crazy antics, usually involving an alligator or snakes, always in good humor. He was preceded in death by his wife Lessie Tucker McInnis, mother Nel Weldon McInnis, father Douglas Emmett McInnis II, brother Douglas "Boy" Emmett McInnis III, and Sister Nel Douglas McInnis Herrod. He also now joins two very close personal friends that have passed before him, Howard Bolton Senior and Fred C. Frey Junior. His memory is survived by his four sons, all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, second wife Jacqueline Jenkins McInnis whom he stayed close to, and all of the many wonderful people that knew him. Visitation and memorial services will be held at downtown Rabenhorst Funeral Home Thursday, May 5th. Visitation 9 am to 11 am with memorial services at 11 am. Daddy had requested cremation and that his ashes be spread over the Atachafalaya spillway. This request will be honored.
