

William “Bill” Irving, III, 70, a native of Jackson, MS and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Tuesday June 7, 2011 at his home. Bill graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in history and was as Captain in the US Army having served in Vietnam. His career and hobby was the theater but his love was his family and the Lord. Bill was a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church and during his years of service he fulfilled the role of President of the United Methodist Men, Chairman of the Stewardship Committee, and served in practically every role possible as a humble servant. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Alice Perdue Irving; sisters: Jeanie Smith, Deanie Irving, and Elsie Braswell and husband Eddie; nieces and nephews: Gwen Braud, Jordan Hollier, Dylan Hollier, Lee and Crista Browning, Brian Browning and Shontell Fisher, Riley Bauchcum, Jennifer and Micah Cristy, and Jason Braswell. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William Irving, Jr and Virginia Hare Irving. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday June 10, 2011 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Saturday June 11, 2011 at Ingleside United Methodist Church from 10am until time of services at 11am. Interment will follow in Resthaven Garden of Memories.
