Abuela, 

You were a light in any room you walked in.  I could not have asked for a better grandmother. Though we were far away you always made us feel loved and cared for. You made us all feel important and special. No one could make me laugh the way you did. I will miss your smile and heart healing love.  Thank you for being someone I could look up to. A soul like no other. I love you and miss you already. 

Madre bella, me alegro haber tenido la oportunidad de hacer posible que disfrutaras las tradiciones celebradas durante todo el año.  Así sentías mucho menos la nostalgia de los que aquí ya no están en vida o en P.R.  Conservabas la dirección de todos para enviar postales y regalos a los nietos y bisnietos.  Recuerdo salir a pasear en el carro juntas con el bisnieto número 26. Tú preparada con la cámara para tirar retratos del atardecer.  Decías que cada atardecer era diferente. Observabas paisajes de la naturaleza y disfrutabas mucho al ver lo lindo que eran.   Había que detenerse porque para ti ese momento tenía que ser plasmado en tú memoria para hoy y siempre. Le tomabas una fotografía. Escuchábamos en el auto, música del ayer en la estación de Radio Oro. Tuve el privilegio de conocer a tus compañeras de la Iglesia. Con las cuales solías salir a visitar enfermos y predicar. Conocí a tus compañeras de trabajo con las cuales disfrutaste tus logros en la telefónica y cantaban juntas. Hasta el día de hoy, que ya no estas, tengo el apoyo emocional de ellas. Tenías una forma muy particular de referirte a ciertas cosas.   Para que los nietos escucharan solías decirles “Yujuly”,“Yujuly como diciendo atención. Si se necesitaba algo decías "De lo que hay no hace falta nada”.  Decías "Me comería un pollo frito con papas” pero eso no lo comías. Si te portas mal decías "Te voy a dar un guapatanazo. Si había algo que no estaba claro solías decir "No tiene lógica”.  Si visitabas un lugar en donde pudiesen pensar que no eras de ahí decías "Soy de aquí como el coquí”. Para todos los nietos y bisnietos decías “Be nice, Be good, Be you".   Cuando aparentaba haber un problema decías “Que problem brother” y para darle final decías “Jaque mate”.  Otras que decías “There is only one life to live”;  “Las cosas se hacen bien, oh no se hacen”; “Da el máximo como si fuera para Dios en todo lo que hagas en tu vida”. Gracias por tus enseñanzas. Vivirás en mis recuerdos siempre. Te Amo

Oh my, how much I miss my “Avispita" my “little wasp”.   
That's what I called “mami” when she was in her no-nonsense mindset.  
I called her “Avispita” especially if she was defiant in following her doctor’s orders. 
She knew this, and she took pleasure in laughing every time I called her that. 
I think she took pride in it. She was the boss and no one else.
She was my Tipitoe”  when she was in her mellow mood.  
    (Tipitoe was the name of a small doll many years ago)
She loved all these endearing names I called her.

We talked everyday having both serious and jovial conversations. The exception was whenever “ella estaba de andariega” taking pictures of the sunset. That was her time. When we talked I shared everything with her. Even though I communicated with her daily and this past June we shared sleepless nights talking and singing gospel songs in the hospital; I feel I needed more time with her. There was never enough time.
                                                  
Mami was inspiring.  She had her share of hard times in life, but her focus never subsided. God and family were always first.  She fought adversity and re-invented herself may times succeeding in all.    I will always be proud to call her my mother. 

Avispita, I miss you a lot and love you very much forever. 


Descansa en paz Tia ,que bien te lo mereces. Despues de una vida incansable, mereces todo el amor del señor, aunque acá nos hagas falta . Tu vida fue la de una verdadera madre llena de amor . Ahora estas en paz ,lo se . Que D's tenga un lugar especial para ti, a la  diestra de angeles y querubines , pues eres una de sus hijas preferidas .Por mi parte , nunca te olvidaré y siempre estaras presente en mi corazón . Cuando pienso en los seres nobles que han pasado por mi vida, estas tu presente en mi alma , aunque hoy estes en lo alto estas otorgandonos la bendición ...

No grandkid could feel more blessed of having you as a grandmother than us grandkids. As I speak for myself I know I am speaking for the rest of the grandkids as well. We were all special in your eyes. You loved us individually and encouraged us to be individuals. To follow our dreams. To pursue our talents. To be God fearing people. Even though we lived far away, you always managed to be close in our lives. Always knowing the latest about us. Never forgetting a birthday card. Always sending us things you thought we would like or want.  You showed us you were always thinking about us. Writing us letters. Another extension of your love was through your art work. You always made us things like the acrostic poem which still hangs up in my room in NY till this day. A beautiful piece of artwork in which I will forever remember you by. You also left us your beautiful music which inspires us. Even today I am still learning just how much you loved and cared for us. As my mother looks through your papers, she finds nothing but saved memories. Notes that you’ve written to your grandkids and art work your grandchildren have sent you. Things from decades ago. Who knew you would have kept those all these years? For only having 1 Grandmother almost my entire life I have to say I was really blessed with a wonderful one. One with a vibrant full of life personality and an infectious laugh.   This is the grandmother that I will always miss and love. I can only hope that as I climb up in age that I am just as graceful and poised as she was. A true example for our entire family. Love you Abuela Angelica forever and always.  I promise to always be nice, be good and to always remain my true self.

I want to thank you for all of the support and the love you gave me throughout the years.  You always remembered my birthdays and you were apart of all the milestones in my life.  During my military deployments you gave me moral support and sent a ton of prayers my way to keep me safe.  Abuela, God listened.  You coined the phrase "Música Abuelita Música"; the beginning of our musical relationship as grandson and grandma. I am going to miss working on music with you terribly and I will miss our conversations that we shared on how we can help others.  I love you and you will forever be on my heart. Thank you for leaving such a mark on this world.

Abuela You will be missed but I know you'll be in heaven watching down on us praying for us like you did every day thank you for teaching me how to write script giving me the passion to want to sing watching you  sing Throughout my childhood And  Always being a positive person and pushing people to be themselves with your signature slogan be good be you Will always love you and thank you for all the memories

Recuerdo que abuela Angélica salía de trabajar tarde de noche y me recogía para que yo pasara la noche con ella.  Al otro día compartía todo el día conmigo ya que estaba libre.  Me cortaba el pelo y decía que era para fortalecerlo y me creciera más.
Abuela era muy estricta en el momento de tomar fotografías.  Ella nos situaba de una forma especifica y nos decía como sonreír.  La extrañaré muchísimo.

Recuerdo muchos momentos felices que pase con Abuela Angélica. Pero el recuerdo que ha trascendido durante los años es el que ella siempre recordaba. Cuando pequeño me gustaba guardar dinero y tenia varias alcancías (piggy banks). Cuando Abuela Angélica viajaba a visitarnos a NY, yo le enseñaba mis alcancías y le decía “chavos abuela chavos”. Todavía a mi edad abuela me decía bromeando “chavos abuela chavos”.  Abuela siempre me decía que mi nombre significa salud “sanador” “healer”.

Te voy a extrañar muchísimo.  Recuerdo que yo no tenia que negociar contigo para que tu me comparas juguetes.

Muchas cosas me enseño abuela.  Una de ellas fue manejar por si  acaso  hubiese  una emergencia. Abuela siempre fue asi, preparando a uno para cualquier momento.  Muchas cosas de mi ser y como soy fueron enseñansas de ella. Son tantas las cosas bellas y lecciones  que no hay tanto espacio para escribirlas aqui. Te voy a extrañar hoy y siempre. Que descanses en paz.  
Me despido y me voy “volando bajito” “metiendole el chanbon” como decia mi querida abuela.

Mi Madre tenía un gran talénto musical.  
En nuestra niñez, nos dormía cada noche con 
música clásica y de otros generos….
Gustaba de escribir poemas , acrósticos  y
tenía una linda caligrafía.
Escribió y grabó, con una voz armonioza,
canciones para Dios, y entre ellas mi preferida es,
"ENSEÑAME".
Por cuatro semanas ví como agonozaba, pero doy
gracias a Dios por permitir que me viera y poder
 decirle a mi Madre cada día  "Que Dios te cuide y
 te acompañe".

HAY TIA,QUE GRAN VASIO NOS AS DEJADO.RECUERDO COMO ME AYUDASTES CUANDO MAMI SE ENFERMÓ,Y TU RISA INCONTROLABLE  CUANDO TE LLAMABA  PARA ASERTE REIR, ELIEZER LLORO MUCHO TU PARTIDA .YLE ALEGRA AVERTE VISTO EN NAVIDAD .Y COSINARTE TU ARROS CON GADULES QUE TANTO TE GUSTABA.DESCANSA EN PAZ  MI GRAN GERRERA, TE AMO.

Tengo los recuerdos mas hermosos contigo. Influenciaste mi carácter, mi alimentación y mi manera de ver la vida. “There is only one life to live” solías decirme. O, “me lo fumo hasta el cabo” cuando te negabas a cambiar tu Toyota de los 80’s que ya no estaba tan nueva. Los días que me cuidaste cuando estaba embarazada de alto riesgo y me alojaste en tu casa y nos cuidaste, a mi y a Ony con tanta dedicación y amor. Cuando nos llevabas al hospital gritándole a todos “bebe a bordo”  y hasta provocaste que nos escoltara una patrulla hasta el hospital, como si de la realeza se tratara. Podría no acabar tantos recuerdos, pero me quedo con tu amplia y hermosa sonrisa, que hacia que se iluminara tu rostro completo. Tu disponibilidad y generosidad para ayudar a los demas! Te amo y te voy a extrañar, como siempre lo he hecho! Te veré de nuevo cuando Jehová te resucite en el nuevo mundo!
