With great sadness the family of Archie Jerome DeVault, III, 66 of Old-River Winfree, announce his passing on January 16, 2024. On February 27, 1957, Archie was born in Houston to Archie Jerome DeVault, Jr. and Mona Elizabeth Bergeron. Archie spent his childhood and early adult years living in both Baytown and Galena Park. In 1989 he finally settled in Old-River Winfree to create a fun, loving home for his children and met many of his life-long friends. On October 19, 2005, Archie married Andrea Dreahn DeVault and they have spent the last eighteen years making memories together.
Archie was a hardworking man who spent 45 years in Fabrication and Supervision for various companies including Pope, Enpro Systems and Texas Industrial Services. Within the workplace Archie created a strong name and legacy for himself. As an honest and fair man, he held everyone to a high standard, including himself, and expected excellence.
Archie had a zest for life and loved to have a good time, enjoying every moment to the fullest. He had a passion for cars and motorcycles and would often be found tinkering in his shop, bringing them back to life. Archie also loved fishing and spent many hours on the Trinity River. Music was always a constant companion, and he was quick to serenade you or pull you up to dance. Archie’s greatest past time was spending time with his family. He loved to kick back with his loved ones, especially his kids and grandkids, to enjoy a fire, grill, play poker or to just listen to some of his good music. During these times Archie would always impart wisdom on anyone who would listen, but above all else he just wanted to enjoy the real moments with everyone he loved.
Archie is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Elizabeth Ann Reed and Michael Jerome DeVault, as well as his most beloved dog, Ellie.
Archie is dearly missed, but his spirit and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Andrea DeVault, daughter Carla DeVault Evans and husband Wesley, son Allen DeVault and wife Tiffany, daughter Heather Halfmann and husband Eric, daughter Tamara Moreau, daughter Sheila Long and husband Maurice; grandchildren, Aaron Harper and wife Savannah, Hunter Tyler, Lauren Beach, Heather Lawrence, Jessica Evans, Madelyn DeVault, Justin Labat, Emma Labat, Trever Hanks, Taylor Emahiser, Mathew Cantrell, Haley Moye, Jordan Long, Destiny Long and Brayden Long and faithful canine companion, Brin.
