Betty Joe “B. J.” Boothe, 85, of Baytown was born January 30, 1933, in Houston and passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at her home. She was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Houston and was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was a Lifetime Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she and her husband David were very active members of the International Committee and she was an International Diplomat. She enjoyed a good party, being surrounded by family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and travelling to destinations all over the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Marguerite Masala; siblings, Gerry Gueldner, Nina Whitsett, and Johnny Masala; and daughter, Lisa Urban. She is survived by her loving husband, David Boothe; children and spouses, Rita Sheppard, Dee Anne and Chris Navarre, Greg and Debbie Boothe, and Sunni and Jim Reynolds; son-in-law and wife, Johnny and Chris Urban; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Tom Meder and Freddie and Lynn Greene; grandchildren, Dane, Chad, Leslie and Kwang Hi, J. P. and Lauren, Matt and Whitley, Dennis and Meghan, Clay, David Patrick and Nichole, Michael and Missy, Lisa, Cory and Amber, Chad and Ashley, Trey and Emily, James, Erin and Kelly; great grandchildren, Isaac, Remy, Chloe Jo, Eva, Max, Rocco, Brynlee, Gentry, Jack, Kaleb, Kason, Destiny, Roxanne, Hope, Peyton, Tyler, Mason, and Christian, numerous special nieces and nephews; and her very special friend, Mary Hucherson, along with many other dear friends.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home on Sunday, September 23, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2018, at Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W. Sterling St., Baytown, TX 77520, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be George, Jr., Jeff, and Greg Kirsch, Ricky Whitsett, Johnny Locke, John Gunn, and Chris Navarre.
