Betty Aileen Dodd Deming, born on September 17, 1954 in Baytown passed away March 9, 2015 at home surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her brother Perry K. Vick of Houston, and survived by her husband of 33 years Donald W. Deming, sons Clayton, Ryan, Adam, and Eric, as well as grandchildren Angela Welk, Preston and Mackenzie Deming. Betty will be greatly missed by her brother Randel E. Dodd and Linda of Norfolk, AR.
A longtime resident of Baytown, Betty attended Robert E. Lee and Lee College before graduating from Sam Houston State with a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology. She had a lifelong love of animals big and small, from her horses as a child to the two stray cats at the end. Always a giving person she mentored many young speech therapists, volunteered for vacation Bible school, taught Sunday school, and visited home-bound friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Earthman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, March 13, 2015 at Earthman Baytown.
