Betty was born in Goose Creek, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Baytown and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1949 where she was a drummer in the Lee Brigadiers. On September 1, 1950, Betty and Curtis Harrison were married and remained so for 66 years until his passing in 2017. She worked for Citizens/Amegy Bank for 30 years, being a teller, head teller, and supervisor in the safe.
Betty enjoyed shopping and having lunch at the area malls. She and her cousin, Jessie Tucker, loved traveling, going to the northeast coast and making several trips to Colorado.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Harrison; parents, Rufus and Amelia Jacobs; granddaughter, Christine Michelle Sanders; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.B. and Catherine Jacobs and Albert and Pat Jacobs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Russell Colburn and Alice and Sam Kimmey.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Carla and Glenn Landry and Barbara Harrison; step grandsons, Chris Landry and Scott and Brittany Landry; step great grandson, Karsun Landry; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Betty attended Memorial Baptist Church for most of her life. Her services will be held in the church chapel on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 with visitation to begin at 10:00 am and memorial service to follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Piatt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Memorial Baptist Church or the Relay for Life Cancer Fund.
