Billy Leon Peacock, 84, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, after a long battle of heart related complications. He was born on December 7, 1941, in Pelly, Texas, to the late Edgar Leon and Opal Avis Hargis Peacock. Being born and raised in Baytown, Billy graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1959, and was one of the original Pelly Rats. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a proud American, as well as a member of the Masonic Lodge #1357.
Billy enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden and was an avid golfer who loved to travel. He visited many places throughout his life, but his favorite destination was Jerusalem, where he experienced the land where Jesus was born and visited its sacred sites—memories he held close to his heart.
Above all, Billy was a devoted family man. Time spent with his loved ones meant more to him than anything else, and he cherished every moment. His family was his greatest joy, and he was incredibly proud of each one of them.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Robert E. Peacock, Sammy C. Peacock, and Geraldine Peacock Morton; and his nephew Edgar E. Peacock. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his nieces and nephews Donnis Pitts, Laura Morton Chavira and husband Jose, Paige Morton and wife Valerie, Teresa Peacock, Samuel Peacock, James Lightbody and wife Samantha, Billy Adam Peacock and wife Alyssa, Kristen Presley and husband Michael, Allie Peacock and Peyton Peacock; his many friends; along with a host of other relatives.
The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the wonderful care provided by Unity Hospice in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Billy’s honor.
