Bonnie passed on to heaven, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Bend, Young County, TX, she grew up in De Leon TX. She moved to Galveston where she met her husband, Jesse H. Kidd. They were married for 53 years until he passed on in 1995.
Whatever Bonnie did her zest for life shone through. She wanted everything done quickly, correctly and perfectly. Her love for gardening was lifetime and one could see her glowing as she worked in the yard with her beloved plants. She also loved cooking and entertaining, as well as drawing, sketching and painting. Researching family Genealogy gave her great pride and pleasure.
She moved to Wharton, TX to be nearer to her daughter, Elinda Wetz and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Unfortunately, Elinda passed before her so she moved to Bedford to be closer to her son, Jesse. While in Bedford she was fortunate enough to meet Vernon Smith who brought sunshine to her life when they married in 2005. Vern passed on in 2006 and Bonnie was totally devastated. Nevertheless, she attempted to carry on with her usual zest.
She had a successful career starting with Humble Oil Credit Union, which became the Exxon Credit Union, where she retired as a Vice President in the early 80’s.
