Brenda Gayle Saunders

Brenda Gayle Saunders, 60, of Baytown was born September 7, 1949 in Baytown and passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 in a Houston hospital. She was a 1966 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a member of the Mont Belvieu United Pentecostal Church. She was a very happy person who loved her job at Southwest Airlines. She also loved her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Oma Lee Myers; stepbrother, Paul David; infant brother, James Oscar Laird; and brothers-in-law, Vernon Downing and Michael Trousdale. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Saunders and Dennis McMahon of Longmont, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Steven Saunders and Christina Malgrat of Baytown; father and stepmother, Oscar B. and Joy Faye Laird of Houston; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and James Rice of Mont Belvieu, Virginia Downing of Mont Belvieu, Alice and Bobby Bounds of Highlands, Geneva Trousdale of Mont Belvieu, and Tammy and Russell Johnson of Baytown; grandchildren, Hayley Saunders, Mikeal Gay, and Alexis Saunders; and great granddaughter, Allie McMahon.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, August 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with rev. John Bernardini, II and Rev. Ron Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Taylor, Clay Jarry, Scott Tompkins, Michael Trousdale, Jim Rice, Gregory Rice, David Downing, and Ron Bounds. Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Laird, Robert Laird, James Rice, and Bobby Bounds.
