

Brother Bob Ellison, 58, of Highlands, TX was born March 1, 1954, in Midland and passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, in a Baytown hospital. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and graduated from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL in 1984. He was the pastor of Highlands Baptist Church and was a member of the Southern Baptist Texas Association and the Ministerial Alliance of Highlands. He was a bit of a computer geek and had an artistic flair that was never fully realized because his church and family always came first.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Sonia Ellison; brother, Stevie Ellison; and grandmother, Pauline Branson. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda Ellison and daughter and son-in-law, Annalisa and Branden Gilbert, all of Highlands; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Doty and Becky and Mike Hargrove, all of Chandler and Kathy and Randy Copeland of Tyler; and a grandson due to arrive in June, Daniel Robert Gilbert.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Highlands Baptist Church, 107 E. Canal Rd., Highlands, TX 77562 with Rev. Jimmy Davis and Rev. Eddie Norris officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry McDonald, Randy Copeland, Seth McMichael, Branden Gilbert, Jerry Gilbert, and Gil Gilbert.
