He was born February 2, 1952 in New Orleans, at 5 years he moved to Washington state and then to a farm in Oregon, where he developed his love for hunting and fishing. At 12 the family moved to Baytown, Tx where he spent the rest of his life. He graduated from Sterling High School then went on to earn his degree in Accounting from the University of Houston. Ultimately becoming a CPA. His career included business accounting and investment banking before focusing his career in accountant placement services where he was the founder of The Martin Group. He was blessed to be able to retire at the age of 50.
His pride and joy was his family. He was blessed with 50 years of marriage to his wife Sharron. Together they lived a life of joy and happiness, enjoying concerts, festivals, trips and just going out together. Their wonderful daughter Amber has blessed them with five grandchildren, Jordan, Cherilyn, Celeste, Shaylee, and Jameson. He loved his grandkids and they loved hanging out with Papa listening to music and enjoying his hamburgers. In his daughter’s words there was no one more selfless in the world, always placing each of their needs above his own.
He also loved his brother Rex. Although the two spent the majority of their adult lives in different states, the two remained in close contact sharing about their families and sports.
He was a simple man that enjoyed the small pleasures in life like hunting, fishing, playing cards or dominos, and having family bar-b-ques. He was blessed with numerous lifelong friends that remained close to him, often talking and seeing many of them every week. More than one considered him their “best friend” and a great friend he was.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father Gene Field, mother Terry Field, and grandmother Auralie Boudreaux. He is survived by his wife Sharron, daughter Amber, grandchildren Jordan, Cherilyn, Celeste, Shaylee and Jameson, brother Rex and wife Saysuda, niece Stephanie, nephew Kyle, as well as other family members and many friends.
