Carmen Ceja

Carmen Ceja, of Dayton, Texas, passed away, on Monday, June 2, 2025, at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Tizapan El Álto, Jalisco, Mexico, on June 22, 1956, to the late Pablo Garcia and Guadalupe Ramirez.

Carmen pursued many interests, some of which included cooking, listening to music, dancing and gossiping with her friends and family. She was a true caregiver to everyone, always making sure nobody went without. Carmen was loving and caring to all who knew her. Her true happy place was out in the garden. Carmen had a green thumb, anything she planted grew with little help. Family meant everything to her. She found that her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and precious grandchildren.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter Cruz Ceja; and her siblings Concepcion Garcia, Mercedes Garcia, and Ramiro Garcia. She leaves behind to cherish her loving husband Jose Ceja; her children Maria Navarro and husband Hugo, Nereida Ceja, Cruz Ceja, and Armando Ceja; her grandchildren Katalyna Navarro, Ismael Navarro, Ricardo Navarro, Kahrisma Navarro, Guillermo Cardenas, Jr., Alexandra Cardenas, Jovan Bridges Jr., Aureli Ceja; her siblings Maria Cardenas, Javier Garcia and wife Minerva and Francisco Garcia; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A gathering of family and friends for Carmen will be held Monday, June 9, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. A rosary will occur Monday, June 9, 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521. A celebration of life service will occur Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
