She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew Jackson and Zell Lowry Scott and her 5 siblings.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years Tedrow Robert Swaim Jr of Baytown, son Mike Swaim and wife-Natalie of Baytown and daughter Ann and husband Steve Hughes of Bremond, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren Vlad, Andrew, Emily, & David Swaim and Brooke (Charlie) Brock. Charlita grew up in Portales, New Mexico where she graduated in 1956. During a visit to Houston Charlita met Ted at church and they married 4 months later. After spending 2 years near Tacoma, Washington while Ted was in the Army, they returned to Houston in1958. In 1964, God moved Charlita and her family to Baytown. Charlita loved the Lord and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Charlita will be dearly missed by many friends and family but not forgotten.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 2020 from 5-7p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 at First Baptist Church Baytown. Serving as Pallbearers are: David Rodgers, Ken Foster, Gene Bennett, Mike Pearce, Ray Davis, & David Jones. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Steve Hughes, Vlad Swaim, Andrew Swaim, & Ernest Coltharp.
