It is with deep heartbreak that we share the passing of Connie Denise Edmundson Jennings on November 22, 2025. Born on March 10, 1955 to A. L. and Bobbie Edmundson, Connie was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School where she served as Drum Major and was voted class favorite her senior year. After graduating from The University of Houston, she married her devoted husband, Johnnie Glenn Jennings, Jr., on July 23, 1976 at Cedar Bayou United Methodist Church. Together they built a beautiful life in Baytown. Connie and Glenn treasured their travels, their time together at Lake LBJ, and the quiet mornings spent side by side on the patio drinking coffee. They were blessed to walk through life always lifting one another up.
Family was Connie’s greatest joy. She delighted in attending her grandkids’ birthday parties, football games, dance recitals, plays, school events and never missed an opportunity to tell each of them how much they were loved. She found happiness in the busy joy & chaos of holiday gatherings, peaceful days at the lake, large family meals, and shopping trips with her kids and grandkids. Connie poured her heart into every relationship and was a steady, encouraging presence to all who knew her.
Connie and her family were longtime members of Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist, where she served faithfully as a Stephen Minister for many years. She was especially proud of her work as Chairman of the Sesquicentennial Committee and her efforts in restoring the Alexander Chapel of Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist. In later years, while spending time in the hill country, she cherished attending First Baptist Church Marble Falls. Connie’s steadfast faith guided and sustained her, shaping the generous spirit that made her so deeply loved.
Those touched by Connie’s life will remember her warmth, compassion, and remarkable ability to make others feel valued. She treasured her dear friends—especially her Beta Sigma Phi sisters and the members of the Service League of Baytown. These women and their families held a special place in her heart. It was through Beta Sigma Phi that she received the International Award of Distinction.
Connie also strongly believed in supporting causes near and dear to her heart like T1D, Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital Women’s Advisory Group, and Bridgehaven Children’s Advocacy Center. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared, the kindness she offered, and the example she set.
Connie is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Johnnie “Glenn” Jennings, Jr.; sons Johnnie “John” Jennings, III and wife Brittany; Edmund Jennings and wife Jessica; and five grandchildren Jagger, Julianna, Jessie, Jentry, and Joshua. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is at peace and held in the arms of the Lord she trusted so faithfully.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
The family of Connie Jennings would like to thank pallbearers Chance Angel, Paul Fowler, Bart Jennings, Jagger Jennings, Jentry Jennings, Paul Jennings, Jesus Mendez, and Mark Tiller. They also extend heartfelt gratitude for the support, prayers, and kindness shown during this time.
