David Cepeda

David Cepeda, 68, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Burgos, Mexico, on December 29, 1957, to the late Gamaliel Cepeda, Sr. and Isabel Galvan. In 1978, David married the love of his life, a young woman by the name of Esmeralda Torres. They spent the next 47 years building a beautiful life together centered around their love for each other and their family.

David pursued many interests, some of which included reading the bible, and his love for watching soccer, especially Barcelona and Mexico. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like just staying home. David was a quiet man, always soft spoken, but only when spoken to. If he had something to say, you had better listen, because it was sure to be something good. He was pleasant but always had a sassy side to him. He loved to play jokes on others, because seeing them smile made his day. David naturally lit up the room with his infectious laugh after a good joke. Above all, his greatest joy came from the precious time spent with his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Matilde Reyes; and his brother Benjamin Cepeda. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his wife Esmeralda Cepeda; his children David Cepeda, Omar Cepeda, Raquel Kokani and husband James, and Jonathan Cepeda; his grandchildren Emma Kokani, Ryleigh Cepeda and Logan Cepeda; his siblings Ogla Rubio, Jamie Cepeda, Irma Santillan, Mary Nieves, Juany Noguez, Gamaliel Cepeda, Jr., Elvia Cortez, Norma Velazquez, Magdalena Garza, and Diana Cepeda; his numerous nieces and nephews; and his many cousins; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family would like guests to join them after the graveside service for refreshments at Iglesia Dios De Pactos, 5229 Garth Rd, Baytown, Texas 77521.

Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on April 14, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral service will take place at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on April 15, 2026, at 10:00 am. A Graveside service will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521, on April 15, 2026, at 11:30 am.
