

Delma Earl Polk passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2005, in a Lufkin hospital. He was born October 28, 1928 in Walnut Springs, Texas to Jim & Suzie Polk. He retired as a Seaman with G & H Towing and served in the Merchant Marines. He was a member of Morgan’s Point Baptist Church, La Porte Masonic Lodge, The Shrine Club, and The American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Violet Polk, son, Robert Earl Polk, and 6 brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Ann Denning of La Porte, brother, Bobby Polk of Lake Jackson, twin sister, Velma Simmons of Beaumont, sisters, Minnie Ola McDonald of Bay Cliff, Rev. Phyllis Wells of Baytown, Ruth Ann Flirt of Aransas Pass, Helen Tischhauser of Austin, grandchildren, Troy Dale Sumlin and John Derrick Sumlin both of La Porte, great grandchild, Morgan Elizabeth Sumlin of Ft. Worth, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, 10:00 am at Navarre Funeral Chapel with Rev. D. L. Harvey officiating and assisted by Rev. Phyllis Wells. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Darryl LeCompte, Jerry LeCompte, Bryan LeCompte, Mike Kelly, Andy Polk, and Scottie Polk.
