Dr. Richard S. Hutto

Dr. Richard S. Hutto, 67, of Baytown was born July 15, 1946, in Houston and passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was a 1964 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a 1970 graduate from the University Of Houston School Of Optometry. He practiced optometry for 44 years at Texas State Optical on Garth Road. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Richard lived his life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, traveling to the Caribbean, and collecting and showing classic automobiles. Richard was a funny, vibrant, and generous person and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett O. and Awline Hutto. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane Stegmann Hutto of Baytown; daughters, Dr. Rhonda Hutto Anderson and husband, Dr. Mark Anderson of Humble and Rachel Patterson and husband, Philip of Baytown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dr. Rodney and Norma Jean Hutto of San Miguel, Mexico and Dr. Dean and Gena Hutto of Baytown; sister, Cynda Brooke Hutto of Houston; and grandchildren, Victoria and Joseph Anderson and Joshua and Olivia Patterson.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Saturday, June 14, 2014, beginning at 12 Noon with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Alan Beck officiating. A private burial will follow.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Mark Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Philip Patterson, Dr. Dean Hutto, Dr. Rodney Hutto, and Mark Hutto.

His family would like to say a special ""thank you"" to the staff of Humble Care for the care that they provided, especially Christi Robertson and Shawna Fuselier.
