Eleonora Sjolander

Eleonora Sjolander, 77, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning at San Jacinto Hospital in Baytown, TX on October 20, 2005. Born in Regensburg, Germany in 1928, she came to the United States at the age of 17 and settled in Baytown. In her early twenties Mrs. Sjolander became associated with Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God where she became a Christian and lived her life to please the Lord. She will be most remembered for her jolly laughter and beautiful soprano voice she used to glorify the Lord. She was married for 45 years to her faithful and loving companion John Calvin Sjolander. Mrs. Sjolander will be greatly missed by family and friends, but they are confident that she is now in the presence of Jesus, completely healed and singing in the greatest choir ever to be assembled.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Mueller, and sister Renate’ Krenn. She is survived by her husband, John C. Sjolander of Baytown; brother, Peter Krenn and sister Ursela Leube both of Germany; daughter Charlotte Presswood and husband Pat of Plum Grove, TX; son, Louis Hawthorne and wife Linda of Crosby, TX; son, Herbert Hawthorne and wife Jean of Huffman, TX; daughter, Debbie Fling and husband Ross of Uvalde, TX; grandchildren, Jake Hoot, Lori Boehm, Amy Presswood, Chris Hawthorne, Shane Hawthorne, Shawn Hawthorne, Brandy Ellerbee, Chad Gilbert, Amanda Gilbert, Gabriel Hawthorne, Renate’ Hawthorne, Jesse George, Stanton Fling and 18 great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jake Hoot, Chris Boehm, Chris Hawthorne, Jesse George, Gabriel Hawthorne, Shane Hawthorne, Shawn Hawthorne, and Stanton Fling. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Gilbert, J. D. Avant, Tommy Standard, Steve Fowler, Bob Campbell, and Ronnie Fogleman.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 p. m. to 5 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home in Baytown. Reverend Raymond Sjolander will officiate. Committal services and interment will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands.
