Elzie L. McCagg

Elzie L. McCagg, 90, of Baytown was born July 12, 1920 in Damon, TX and passed away at home Sunday, February 20, 2011. He taught at Barbers Hill High School, Robert E. Lee High School, and Lee College, where he retired as Director of Maintenance, and he was a Master Electrician. He was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church and Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran WWII veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie McCagg and daughter, Charlotte Smith and is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Billy A. and Jill McCagg of Baytown, Ralph and Allison McCagg of Nassau Bay and Tom and Melanie Curry of The Woodlands; grandchildren and their spouses, Geoffrey and Natalie Smith, Gennifer and Eldar Gafarov, Thomas McCagg, Dennis McCagg, Wesley McCagg, Ralph McCagg Jr., Samuel McCagg and Beverly McCagg; five great grandchildren; and his caretakers, Dianna Acosta and Teresa James.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander, Baytown, TX 77520 with Dr. Mark Broussard and Dr. E. Richard Steel officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Damon Community Cemetery in Damon.
