Frank Nelson Whittaker III, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on July 20, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Frank was a beloved and cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many with his generous, humorous, and honest spirit.
Frank grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Cum Laude with math honors. His dedication and hard-working nature led him to serve as an Air Force Pilot, achieving the rank of Captain. After his military service, Frank devoted 30 years to a successful career at Chevron Chemical.
He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Donna, for 50 beautiful years. Frank is also survived by his sister, Nancy Martin, and her spouse, Tom. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Nelson Whittaker II, and his mother, Virginia Bittner.
A kind-hearted and patient man, Frank was known for his love of hiking, camping, running and animals. His faithfulness was evident in his active participation in the community as a member of St. Marks Methodist Church and the VFW. A cancer survivor, he was also actively involved in Relay for Life, demonstrating his compassionate nature and willingness to help others.
Frank's legacy is one of kindness and generosity, always willing to help a stranger. He leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will remember him fondly.
The family extends their gratitude to Divinity Hospice and the caretakers at The Waterford of Baytown for their support and care. Frank's uplifting spirit and enduring love will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
