Harvey Curtis Sjolander

Born March 23, 1947 to Betty Downs and John William Sjolander. Harvey was a lifelong Baytown Texas resident. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School, he attended Lee College, then Stephen F. Austin University where he received his Agricultural Teaching Degree in 1971. Harvey had a love and passion for Agriculture and pursued that dream teaching at Robert E. Lee High School until 1979. He moved on to work in the Railroad Industry until retiring in 2016.

Harvey was a faithful Christian. He was a member of Church of Christ, taught Sunday School throughout the years and found his church home at Second Baytown Church. He enjoyed giving back by supporting the community and youth. He was President of Baytown North Little League for several years, President of the Baytown Youth Fair and Rodeo Association for 3 years and served on the Trinity Valley Exposition Board of Directors for the last 4 years. Harvey loved to travel and camp and could always be found enjoying God’s beautiful sunrises.

Harvey is preceded in death by his Parents, Betty & John; Grandson, Marshall Sjolander and Aunt, Margaret Sjolander Darlington “Aunt Dutch”.

He is survived by wife, Alison McShan Sjolander; brother, Bill Sjolander and wife Glenda of Dayton, TX; sons, Sam Sjolander and wife Tamara of Humble, TX; Darren Sjolander and wife Kari of LaPorte, TX; Dalton Sjolander of Webster, TX and Josh Worthy and wife Denise of Hardin, TX; daughters, Sara Sjolander of Houston, TX and Hannah Blanchard and husband Tobby of Hardin, TX; grandchildren, Ashlin Sjolander, Paylin Sjolander, Teagan Sjolander, Blake Cannon, Lily Worthy, Landyn Worthy, Riley Blanchard and Matthew Blanchard; and great grandson, Liam Galvan.

Visitation 5:00p.m.-8:0p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 and Funeral Services at 10:00a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown TX.
