He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Vicky Isaacks Going, brother W. D. (Bill) Going and wife Billie Jean, son Hilton E. (Eddie) Going, sister-in-law Dianne Jensen, and brother-in-law Jimmy Ray Isaacks.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sondra Albright Going. His daughter and son-in-law, Teina and Jim Laird, grandson Brandon and wife Stephanie Laird, and two great-grandsons, Samuel and Stephan. He also is survived by nieces and nephews who were special to him and numerous friends.
Eddie was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. God and family were the two most important things in his life. His quick wit and humor followed him everywhere and he seldom met a stranger. If you knew him, you know he gave the best hugs. He was definitely a people person.
He grew up in Cedar Bayou, TX and graduated in 1952 from Cedar Bayou High School. He remained close friends of his class mates all these years.
He loved deer hunting with his wife, brothers, son-in-law, grandson and nephews. However, he never left for the deer lease during football season until he had watched his son and daughter’s half time performance.
He enjoyed traveling and camping all over Texas and many other States. He looked forward to the monthly camp outs with the San Jac Wheeler camping club.
He was a member of the Rough Rider riding club, Baytown Youth Fair, San Jac Wheeler camping club, PTA and Ross S Sterling Booster Club. He was a 50 year member of the Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge and an active member of Enon Baptist Church.
He retired from Occidental Petroleum in 1993 with 40 years of service. In addition he did wedding photography for many years in the Baytown area.
The family would like to give special thanks to Ciara White and Amanda Hefley for their care and devotion to Eddie in his final weeks. Also special thanks to Gentiva Hospice.
