

Janiece Savage Ellisor, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 31, 2025. She was born on November 28, 1939, in Baytown, Texas to Johnnie and Sarah Savage. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, S.D. Ellisor.
Janiece was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children and their husbands, Jennifer and Bill Nitschmann and Suzette and Gordon Schutze; her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Ashley Nitschmann, Lauren and Tyler Bickel, Zachary Schutze and Eugenie Schieve, and Seth and Abby Schutze; and her great grandchildren Colton and Conner Bickel, and Chance Nitschmann. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Cynthia Savage Huey and husband Fred, Nancy Savage Smith and husband Larkin; and her sister-in-law Eileen Savage as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Janette Savage Walker and husband Donald and brother, Johnnie Horace Savage, III.
Janiece graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1958. She married S.D. on May 30,1959 in Baytown settling in Lakewood where they remained until 2023. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. Janiece dedicated her life to her family and friends. She was the most compassionate, caring and loving person always putting others before herself. Janiece was a master seamstress, fisherwoman, line dance leader, and phenomenal cook. She enjoyed traveling with S.D. in their RV, spending time playing dominoes, being outside in her swing listening to the birds, making beautiful things and bringing happiness to others. Her warmth, humor, and kindness touched the lives of many. She lived her life to the fullest and will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
A celebration of Janiece’s life will be held on June 9th, 2025 at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas 77521. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11am. A funeral service will be held at 11am with Interment following at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Memorial Baptist Church.
