

John Joseph Zadrapa, 88, of Crosby went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 15, 2014. John was born in Crosby, Texas to Joseph John Zadrapa and Pauline Rehorek Zadrapa on November 15, 1925. He was the next to the youngest of thirteen children and was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings.
He is survived by his wife of fifty four years, Emma Dale Zadrapa of Crosby, and sister, Rosa Lee Franta of Baytown, Texas. He is also survived by his daughters, Vicki Adcock of Longview, Sherry Morton and husband Robert of Crosby, Christy Roeder and husband, Stephen of Dayton, son John Cecil Zadrapa of Crosby, grandchildren, Jonathan Roeder and wife Vanessa, Christopher Roeder, Abbey Moore and husband David, Casey Morton and wife Brandy, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
John grew up in Crosby and joined the U.S. Navy in 1942. He retired from Merichem Chemical Company with 32 years of service. John attended Vinelife Christian Fellowship in Huffman and was a member of the Crosby Historical Association and American Legion in Crosby. He was an avid nature lover with the exception of his ongoing war with squirrels.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Earthman Funeral Home in Baytown, Texas. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman's with graveside service to follow at Sterling-White Cemetery in Highlands.
The pallbearers are Robert Morton, Casey Morton, David Moore, Stephen Roeder, Jonathan Roeder, and Christopher Roeder. Honorary pallbearers are members of the American Legion in Crosby.
Donations in memory of John may be made to the American Heart Association.
