

Jose Guadalupe Sanchez, 51, of Baytown, Texas, was called to heaven on Friday, March 20, 2026. He was born in Jalisco, Mexico, on December 9, 1974, to Jose Guadalupe Sanchez and Rebeca Barajas. Jose was a proud graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School, in Baytown, Texas, Class of 1993.
He dedicated nearly 28 years of service to the DuPont/Chemours plant in La Porte, TX where he served as a supervisor and earned the respect of all who worked alongside him. Known for his strong work ethic and high standards, he took his responsibilities seriously and led with integrity and pride. A trusted mentor to many, he was always willing to offer guidance and support his team. He truly loved his work and the people he worked with, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Outside of work, he had a deep passion for cooking, especially barbeque, where he took great pride in bringing people together over a good meal. He was a proud member of the Men in Black cooking team, participating in the Houston Rodeo Cookoff and other events, where he shared his love of barbeque and camaraderie.
He also loved to travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new places. A true music lover, he especially enjoyed rock music and was an active concertgoer. He could often be found singing along and had a special fondness for karaoke. He also loved cinema and television, finding simple joy in a good movie or show.
He could easily light up any room with his infectious smile and contagious spirit. His outgoing personality and sense of humor made him the life of the party, bringing laughter and solidarity to those around. More than anything, he especially looked forward to Halloween, enthusiastically decorating his home to the fullest and embracing the spirit of the season with passion and excitement.
Above all, he was deeply devoted to his family, his children, grandchildren, his many friends, and beloved baby boy, Rome. Through his steady support, thoughtful words, and quiet wisdom, he made those around him feel loved, valued, and cared for. His presence was a constant source of strength and comfort, and his love will be carried forward by all who knew him.
Jose was preceded in death by his uncle Sabino Gutierrez; his aunt Martha Gutierrez, his brother-in-law Johnny Ramos, and his stepmother Linda H. Palacios. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his parents; the mother of his children Raquel Ramos; his fiancé Aurora Bernal; his children Christopher Ramos, Cassandra Sanchez, Alexandra Sanchez, Adrianna Sanchez, Savannah Crow and husband Darren Woods, and Ahleena Lugo; his bonus son Charles Johnson; his grandchildren Orlando Rodriguez, Malakai “Little Lion” Redmond, Olivianne Sanchez, Miracle Sanchez, and beloved granddaughter on the way; his siblings Maria Sanchez and husband Eleazar Cantu, Lourdes Sanchez and husband Jose Lopez, Enrique Sanchez, Elias Sanchez and wife Paula, Yuriana Cruz and husband Christian, and Gabriela Cruz; his numerous nieces and nephews; his many cousins; his fur baby Rome; along with a host of other loving relatives and treasured friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his medical team at Houston Methodist Hospital, HCA Healthcare Webster, and Patients ER for their compassionate care, support, and dedication. A special acknowledgment is given to his sister, Maria Sanchez, whose unwavering presence, unrelenting loyalty, and devoted care never left his side through every moment of his journey, and his brother, Elias Sanchez, for his selfless medical contributions and steadfast support.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Elias Sanchez, Enrique Sanchez, Enrique Sanchez, Jr., Alexandria Sanchez, Orlando Rodriguez, Christopher Ramos, Eleazar Cantu, and Mike Knight.
Visitation will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, on March 30, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, on March 31, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, TX 77521, on March 31, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
