Joyce was born to James Alva Walls and Ethel Lou Jacobs Walls on June 25, 1933 in Okaloosa County, Florida. She married Jessie Donald Deans, in 1951 and they lived together in the Baytown/Highlands, Texas area until Donald's passing in 1988. Together they raised 4 children.
Joyce is survived by; son William D. Deans; son Kenneth W. Deans; daughter Theresa D. McRee and her husband Lewis; son Terry D. Deans and his wife Sheila. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Jessie Donald Deans and by her daughter-in-law Glenda W. Deans.
Joyce worked for many years with the transportation department at Goose Creek ISD and with the Church nursery at New Wine Christian Church.
As per Joyce's final request, a small intimate graveside ceremony, limited to family and close friends will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521.
