Joyce L. Shivers

Joyce L. Shivers, 84, of Baytown was born January 18, 1930, in Groveton and passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, in a local healthcare facility. She was a 1948 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a member of Trinity Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Sanders; mother and stepfather, Lonnie and Clyde Maley; husband, Billy Shivers; and brother, Bob Sanders. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, René and Randy Oakley of Anahuac; son, Alex Shivers of Baytown; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Joe and Frances Sanders of Forney; grandchildren, Josh and Monica Oakley, Morgan Shivers, and Zach Shivers; and great grandchildren, Tristan, Trevor, and Laken.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Navarre Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Zach Shivers, Josh Oakley, Terry Sanders, Randy Young, Keith Magill, and Travis Raney.

Her family would like to say a special ""thank you"" to the staff of Cedar Bayou Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the care that they provided for their mother.
