Mrs. Kathleen Yvonne Davis, peacefully entered eternal rest April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 17, 1947, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, she was the cherished daughter of Carl and Leahnell (Kemp) Foster, who preceded her in death.
Kathleen’s life was a reflection of steadfast faith, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. In 1967, Kathleen was united in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, James L. Davis, who also preceded her in death in 2005. To this union three beautiful daughters were born.
Kathleen professed Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was Baptized at the Unity Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She worshiped and served the Lord everywhere she lived.
She devoted more than 40 years of her life to education, shaping young minds and inspiring generations of students. Her distinguished career included service in Long Beach Unified School District in California, the Pasadena Independent School District in Texas, the Ardmore City Schools in Oklahoma, and the Iberia Parish School District in Louisiana. Her commitment to excellence and her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on every life she touched.
A proud graduate of Frederick A. Douglass Sr. High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kathleen was an accomplished vocalist and a standout member of the renowned Concert Choir, a gift she carried with her throughout her life. She studied at Oklahoma State University and graduated from California State University, Long Beach with her Bachelor’s of Arts in Education.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kathleen was an extraordinary cook and homemaker. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and gathering—a reflection of her generous heart and loving spirit. She expressed her love through her meals, her care, and her presence.
Kathleen lived a full and faithful life. Having fought a good fight, finished her course, and kept the faith, she now rests in the eternal peace of her Savior. Her legacy of love, service, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She was a proud and devoted mother to her three daughters: Karen Mabatah (Innocent Mabatah) of New Albany, Ohio, Sombra Williams (Earl Williams) of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Iris Davis of Baytown, Texas. Kathy found immeasurable joy in her role as Grandmother to her beautiful and brilliant granddaughters Theresa Ndidi Matabah and Victoria Obioma Mabatah of New Albany, Ohio, whom she adored and celebrated with pride.
Kathleen is preceded in death by siblings Carla Nell Foster, Carl Edwin Foster, James Murl Foster, Anthony Dewitt Foster, Sr., and Carey Dwain Foster, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her devoted daughters, sons-in-love, and granddaughters, as well as her loving siblings: Arnetta Terrell Jones of Long Beach, California; Rev. Larry Don Foster, Sr. (Rozia); Cynthia Diane Foster Mason; and Rev. Rodney Lindell Foster, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
