I am so sorry for our loss of one of the most wonderful human beings on planet earth that I was personally able to call a friend. I haven't talked to Larry in so long but I have so many funny and sweet memories of him.  From grade school to high school, he always made me laugh.  I was thinking of him and remembered during one semester of high school math class we had together, he brought me a pack of gum almost everyday.  He was just sweet and thoughtful like that. As one of Amy's friends, growing up in grade school and on through high school, I always thought Larry was one of the coolest guys ever. In the 4th grade I even tried to convince my mom that a leather wallet with a chain was okay for me because ""Amy's brother has one""! 

But Larry was one of a kind and couldn't be copied. I'm glad to have more than a few memories of him.  him.

  We have been friends for almost half my life, and no matter the time that passes from visit to visit, no time passes in our friendship. You are probably THE most incredible and influential person in my life and I have always loved you.I realized how lucky I was to have had met you.I could tell how happy you were to be married and finally have a baby to pass on the Briggs name, I was so sick when Little Theron passed, bacause of all the parents out there that are unworthy of children, two of the best parents lost thier little one. It made me realize how lucky I am to have my little ones still in my arms. Then when Tripper passed, it made me realize how lucky I am to still have my best friends in my life.   So now I feel so incredibly lucky to have had the time with you that I have, and I hold my family a little tighter every time we say goodbye. You have changed me for the better, and for that I am eternally greatful. I will plant a tree, donate and volunteer and throw myself head-long into life, just like you would want everone of us to do. One year ago today I got a call that you didnt come home .....deep down I new something wasnt right....but thought for sure we would find you hurt on the side of the road.....as we drove and stared off into the brush on the side of the roads, my heart sunk with every mile that we didnt see a glimpse of orange.  My prayers were becoming more frantic and I felt like they were bouncing off the sky......
I will never ever forget that second call from Heather and she said you were gone.....even though my brain was telling me all along...my heart just broke.  Bub I miss you and love you more than you could ever know....I still question why this all happened the way it did. One day I will know.   I know you and Theron are watching over Heather and Leighton...and I know you have visited a time or two....ofcourse you know she is gorgeous and has your eyes, Bub. None of us will EVER be the same on this earth until we meet again. Until then we are blessed to have two great guys as our guardian angels....I know we must keep you guys busy.... :-)

Heather, Although I never knew you, I felt as though I did. Larry had a way of doing that through his e-mails. I am speechless as to the tragic events you have encountered. I will always cherish the fond memories I have of Larry. One memory I will never forget is the conversations we had prior to his move to Texas and the beginning of a new chapter in his life. I at the same time was leaving Granite City and moving to Florida. Seeing him last year at the class reunion and hearing him talk about you only proved that it was the best decision he could have ever made. He has a great bunch of friends which I know will look over you and the baby.

My friend Larry has left a huge void in my life...  But when I think of all the relationships, friends and family he has given me I realized how blessed I really am in knowing him.  I feel that what we all should do for Larry is be sure to keep these friendships/relationships growing and strong.  That should be a big part of Larry's legacy.  Beyond that there is his wonderful wife and baby Briggs.  You have my love and support always.  Heather- I think everyone knows as well as I what his meeting you did for his life.  It was so obvious that it brought fulfillment, happiness, and tought him what the real ""Meaning of Life"" is all about.  We all love you for that, and for just being the the amazing sweet person that you are.  Larry lived his life well... why he had to leave now just makes no sense to me- but I know he left a happy man who led a fulfilling life the way he chose- and once you two were together... it was always with the support of his loving wife.  I know he and God (anyone's God) expects us to find a way to except it and keep our memories close to heart as we go on in life.  I will cherish his memory till until my turn has come.  As Larry would say (and do)- ""Love to you all""

Within the past 4 months I have lost 3 of the brightest stars ever to light up my universe.

 Nirvana, as defined by Hinduism is the ""extinction of the flame of life"". Buddhism defines it as the ""state of perfect blessedness"". Knowing that Squigboit, Jaybird, Markiey, and the precious son Theron is in Nirvana; that state of perfect blessedness means the world to me.  

Valhalla, as Norse mythology tells us is ""the great hall where Odin receives the souls of heroes"". These 4 heroes whose flame was  extinguished way too early are in that great hall.

One of Heavens definitions is ""a state of great happiness"". 

May Squigboit, Jaybird, Markiey, and the precious son Theron forever be in the states of ""perfect blessedness"" and ""great happiness"" in that ""great hall of heroes"". 

Rest in Peace, my brothers, my son, and if I may; my grand-son. 

You will always be remembered and it was indeed my honor to have known you all. 

As most of you know Larry was like another son to me. He was not wrong. Larry was one of the most correct young men I have ever known as witnessed by the multitude of friends he has touched all over the world. Men like him usually come through our lives but once, so please cherish your memories of him as I know you will. 
 It is so rewarding to me to know that he was such 
 an inspiration to all of us.

Heather, my heart was broken when I heard the tragic news. It is unreal, unexplainable why losses in our lives come so close together, but we must believe that God has a plan for all of us. It seems like yesterday that I was sitting with Larry at the reunion catching up on old times.He was such a good friend in high school.  He was telling of his wonderful life in Texas that he shared with you and his expected child.  You have endured more loss in this lifetime than seems fair. Just keep the faith as you still have a miracle coming and Larry will live on through your child and your memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My heart breaks for you thinking about all you have been through this year.  Larry is one of the greatest guys I've ever known.  He was a very kind and loving person who was always there for his friends and family.  Larry was there for us and helped us deal with our accident, (but we have to blame him for turning our daughter Sammie into a hippie). Even as we got older and our differences seemed to come through,  I am still just so absolutley blessed and will cherish every day we had together.  Its unbearable to believe that I will never hear your deep voice or see your big smile again in the natural.  But I find comfort in knowing that God sent me a sign to KNOW that Theron (my lil' cheese) is getting to hear his Daddys voice and see that smile.  What an awesome re-union that must have been !!! :)
And now you have a much better understaning of why we want to go there...to be where you are.....and I know who will be waiting for me with BIG SMILES on there faces !!  And I will try real hard Bub not to be my normal sarcastic self and say ""I told ya so "" !! ;)

As you already know, my deepest sympathies are with you.  I have known Larry all of my life and it has been so great reconnecting with him over the last few years. Life just doesn't seem fair that anyone should have to go through this degree of loss & in such a short period of time.  The ONLY relief is to know that Larry, Theron, Mark and Jay are all together now taking care of each other and certainly watching over you and the new baby everyday.

Heather, my sympathies go out to you as I sit here in shock at the losses you've had to deal with over the past few months. I was very excited to find Larry and email him one day. I've gotten to know him more in the past year or so than the 30 years put together since we were small. I have to tell you, we sat next to each other at high school graduation, and Larry with all of his hair (reminded me of slash), he did nothing but sit there and crack me up the entire time. I almost didn't hear my name being called to go up and receive my diploma. He spoke of you as though you were the ONLY woman on earth. Anytime he spoke of you, it was with complete love and admiration. I will truly miss our coversations and I hope to spend some time in the future getting to know you. I cannot imagine being as strong as you have had to be in the past few months. You inspire me. I would watch the short videos of you speaking to Theron and you did it with so much love. He and his Daddy are hanging out now and having fun. The new baby that will arrive soon will depend on you to remind him of how much his Daddy would love him and take care of him and if anyone can endure the task of making sure that happens, it's you. Heather, this is Mike or TAZ as I'm sure Larry has said. I've always liked Larry and his straightforward in your face this is who I am. We shared a love for music and concerts and he brought me much music that I had never heard before. He was a friend and an ally. We had each others back. He shared his love for you and his family as well as his grief with me and I was honored to listen. It will never be the same at work again. I will truly miss Larry and my heart goes out to you Heather. Please call on Tonya and I when you have your baby and let us help. God bless you Heather.

Heather,  It was a pleasure spending what time I did with Larry.  Anybody that took the time to make sure that all animals had a loving home and proper care is good at heart.  I know this because he helped me in time of need with ""Molly"" my black lab.  I will miss his jokes and great since of humor that always made me feel good inside.

I don't believe we have ever met, but I pass on my sincerest condolences to you and your family.  I think the first time I saw Larry after high school was last fall at our 20 year reunion.  He was a very genuine person who was a pleasure to revisit and connect with.  I'm so sorry for your loss, and will keep you and yours in my prayers.

Larry, you were like an uncle to me. I remember when you came back from Texas with my dad to visit all of us in Granite and I thought ""whos the wierd guy sitting on my couch with the long hair"", haha. You were such a great guy, my dads best friend. You were always coming by with things to give me, cd's, hats, stickers, shirts, whatever you thought I'd like. I really cherish all of that stuff that you gave me, and everytime I listen to the ramones I'll think of you :D. It's really hard to think that you're gone, but atleast theron has his daddy with him to keep him company now. Love you like you're apart of my family. 

And Heather, you know you became like an aunt to me, you're the sweetest woman I've ever met. I know times are really hard right now but all you can do is have everyone by your side to help you through all this. I know I'm just a kid but I'm here if you need me, and so is everyone else. <3

This is very hard for those of us here, but at least it is well that Larry will be there to guide young Theron, as fathers ought do for their sons.

Larry I know Heaven must be beautiful and I know you must be so happy to be holding Theron in your arms. I am sure you are smiling that "" PROUD DADDY SMILE"" again. 
Heather I love you and I am here for you at any time day or night that you need me. I don't understand the reason why you had to lose the two most important guys in your life but just know that Larry and Theron will be watching over you and that new little one that you carry right now.
To all of Larry's FAMILY and FRIENDS I am so very sorry for your loss...I know how much Larry touched each of your lives and how very special he was to all of you. But the good Lord decided HE wanted to spend life with Larry now...I don't really understand all the WHY questions either...But I do know that Our Lord Jesus Christ is the way to see Larry Again! Larry has not left anyone, his spirit will live on in each of you forever.

To know Larry was to love him. To all of Larry's family & friends,he thought of everyone as family.The words that come to mind to descibe Larry are, that he had a very good heart, love for everyone of us, he always found something good in everyone. He was his grandfather's and my beacon of light. Now that beacon has gone out.I think all of us can turn the beacon back on, by keeping the love he had for everyone alive. Please give special thoughts for Heather and their baby on the way...Larry is not gone, he will live in all of our hearts forever.....

Little Larry I will miss your smiling face and sense of humor. You lived your life the way you wanted..I remember when you married Heather and how happy you were.You two truly had love for each other. Heather,I was shocked  and heartbroken by the news of Larry's passing.He was one of a kind.I loved him.He was one of my musical brothers.My heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Heather, I know you do not know me but I work with Larry and I always will.We enjoyed talking about motorcycles,music,family and Kinky.I am the only guy that he said he had ever met that had seen Jimi Hendrix live.I gave him the ""Free"" Anthology CD because he said he did not have any ""Free"" music.He gave me a Kinky video and the first bumper sticker I ever put on any of my vehicles! Larry, there is no way to describe how much you will be missed. I am so thankful that I was able to get closer to you over the last few years, eventhough I have had my whole life to do so. 

I cannot begin to say how proud I am to be able to tell people ""back home"" how great your life and family is, once they realized that I was your little brother. The age difference may have been enough to throw people off, but it has never been enough to keep me from loving you and Heather as much as I can from so far away.

No one can change the fact that you lived life to the fullest, and touched everyone around you.

I fell in in love with Larry and Hearther the frist time i meet them. Their are the nicest people one could ever meet, especialy me comming from the other side of the world ( Zambia, Africa), life can be so lonley being so far away from home. but after meeting Larry and Heather life become intresting and l knew l had made a new family in a forigen land, that l could always count on.

I wish I had all the right words to say that would comfort you and make the pain stop. But human words fall short in times like these. So just know that I pray for you often and cry with you just as much.As a pastor I face death on a regular basis but very few have affected me like this. I truly loved Larry, we were original best friends all the way back to Wilson School.Like Larry I had very few regrets in life. But one was that we parted ways as friends for so many years.
