Lou Aleen Fuller Britton was born in Merryville, Louisiana. At an early age, Lou moved to Baytown, Texas with her family. Lou attended Baytown Elementary, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School where she led cheers with gusto as one of the cheerleaders. She attended John McNeese University in Lake Charles, Louisiana and then attended the University of Houston. The need for workers during WWII, allowed Lou to start work at the Baytown Ordinance Works in the Accounting Department. She later transferred to the Humble Oil & Refining Company (now Exxon Mobil Corp.) and worked in their accounting department for over twenty years.
Lou was a loyal member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, serving on various committees and the administrative board. She was a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi. Sorority, a board member of the Baytown Homeless Shelter, a member of the Goose Creek Country Club Garden Club, a member of the P. E. O. and an accomplished pianist. Lou was known for her gardening of caladiums and frangipanis (plumeria) specialties and her interludes of music - all styles and anything she enjoyed. Lou and her devoted husband Perry W. Britton traveled to many foreign countries and saw many sights - Africa being their favorite.

Lou is survived by her sister, Mrs. Joy Stewart Fuller Stephens, and three nieces and their spouses: Lila Lou Stephens and Bryan Ackler of Tualatin, Oregon; Linda Lee Stephens and David Hopkins of Hillsboro, Oregon; and Lisa Stephens and Craig Molseed, of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
