Lucille Hart, 98, formerly of Baytown, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013 in a Houston nursing home. Lucille was born on September 30, 1914 in Smithville, Texas. In 1952 Lucille moved to Baytown and she began working for the VA Hospital in Houston. Lucille's caring spirit was exemplified through her job assisting injured and ill veterans. Each year she would invite her patients who had no family to her home for a blue ribbon winning Christmas dinner. It was at the VA where she met Carl Hart, who she married in 1961. Lucille was a very active member of Central Baptist Church in Baytown and she enjoyed volunteering for many charitable committees at the church.
Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Carl. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Ann Mims; cousins, Pat and Bill Zumwalt; and many other relatives.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at White Cemetery in Highlands, with Rev. Eddie Norris officiating.
