Harold Lynn Williamson, 85, of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 in Baytown. He was born November 1, 1928 in Seagoville, Texas to his late parents, Robert Williamson and Mary Blackmon Williamson.
Mr. Williamson, known by all those who loved him as Papaw, lived in Baytown for over 50 years and was a retired supervisor from Chevron after more than 35 years of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, a former member of the Elk's Lodge, and an Eagle Scout who passed on his love of hunting and the outdoors to his kids and grandkids. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a dedicated little league and soccer coach. He ran a ""meals on wheels"" and ""taxi"" service for his grandkids and often served as their disapproving fashion consultant. From tennis lessons to soccer matches to baseball and football games, Papaw was cheering from the sidelines in his trusty lawn chair. There wasn't a vegetable he couldn't grow, a pecan he couldn't peel and a knot he couldn't tie (or untie for that matter).
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Merle Fitts. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Williamson of Baytown; children, Tommy Williamson and wife Linda, and Terry Williamson and wife Naomi all of Houston, Patti Carhart of Shoreacres, Donald Motley and wife Becky of Trinity, and Paula Widner and husband Michael of Cove; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Williamson, Jonathan Williamson, Josh Williamson, Eric Carhart, Jason Schick and William Widner.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 25, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas 77521, (281) 422-8111.
