Mabel Catherine "Caye" Kominek

Mabel Catherine “Caye” Kominek, 85, of Baytown, TX, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. She was born on Oct. 14, 1929, in Dacus, TX, and she lived most of her life in Baytown. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a Girl Scout leader. She was also the first woman in this area to achieve the level of Certified Professional Secretary, of which she was extremely proud. She loved her family deeply. She was an artist, nature lover, rock club member, floral decorator, and she had a deep love of the color gold. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Baytown, TX.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Ruby Jones; mother, Frenchie Margueritte Post; infant brother, Roy Allen Jones; brother, James Ruben Jones, Sr. (Buddy) and husband, Frank Albert Kominek.

She is survived by her nieces, Laurie Meyer, Cindy McHenry and husband Steve, and nephew, Jimmy Jones and wife Jillian, who she considered her children; nieces and nephews, Amanda, Kam and Chelsey Majeed, Ashley McDonald, Marissa and Chris Vogler, Nicole Jones, Jamie and Lilli Avalos, Dominique Jones, Kris, Gabrielle, Kinnisyn and Kyndall McHenry, Katie and Trey Jones, Carter, Jack and Lilly Janski; step-children, John, Fei and Jane Kominek; step-grandchildren, Jeff, Carson, William, Alicia, Andrew, Monkia, Julia, and Vivian; sister-in-laws, JoAnne Jones, Suzanne Martin and husband Charlie; cousins, Jeannine and Glen Singleton, and Doris Jenkins.

Special thanks to her caregivers, Joi Gibson and Angela Gabriel who treated her as family.

Pallbearers will be Roger Sitaric, Patrick McDonald, Richard Conyer, Chris Volger, Peter Avalos, John Kominek,

Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve and Kris McHenry, Jeff, William and Andrew Kominek, Glenn Singleton, Charlie, Frank, Johnny, Jimmy and Cecil Martin.

The family will recieve friends on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 2:.00 p.m. at Bethal Cemetery in Montgomery, TX.
