

She was born to the late Otto and Viola Holm September 8, 1926, in Houston, TX. Marjorie received a BS Degree from Rice Institute in 1944 at the age of 18. She married the late Aubrey Adams in 1949, and they made their home in Houston until moving to DeRidder, LA in 1968.
Marjorie worked as a chemist for several years and then chose to stay home with her children. She and Aubrey later owned Adams Building Supply in DeRidder. After retirement, she helped set up the lab at the DeRidder Wastewater Treatment Plant and volunteered at the Agape Clinic, also in DeRidder.
She was an active member of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston and Trinity Episcopal Church in DeRidder. She loved the church and her church family and served as a Sunday School teacher, Vestry member, Church Treasurer and Altar Guild Director.
With her husband, Marge was an active member of the Rotary organization and as a Rotary Ann. In her spare time she enjoyed golf, fishing, and watching most other sports.
Marjorie loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren, Colin DeJean of College Station, TX, Alyssa Adams of Baton Rouge, LA, and Christian DeJean, presently at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY. She was a loving caregiver to her late sister, Donelle Holm.
Along with her grandchildren, two children, Patricia Speck of Baytown, TX, and John Adams of Baton Rouge, LA, and their spouses, Don Speck and Linda Adams survive Marjorie.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in DeRidder, LA, on April 12, 2014, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 629 N. Texas Street, P. O. Box 661, DeRidder , LA 70634.
