

Martin Wayne Jones, age 59, passed away on February 19th at Kingwood Hospital in Kingwood, Texas. He was born on February 11th in Friona, Texas, to H. Wayne Jones and Brenda Cain Jones of Marietta, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terese Gayle Jones, with whom he was married for 29 years. Martin is survived by his three siblings: Chuck Jones, Katherine Jones Serna, and Kevin Jones. He is a proud father of four children: Tracy Jones, Jared Havenar, Chase Brown, and Austin Brown. These wonderful children brought immense joy to his life, culminating in the blessing of twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who filled his days with laughter and happiness.
Martin, a proud native of Gainesville, Texas, graduated in 1984, where he spent his formative years developing his skills as a talented baseball player. His natural athleticism set him apart from a young age, giving him numerous opportunities to excel in sports. As he grew older, Martin decided to marry and start a family.
As a devoted father, he instilled a love of sports in his children from an early age, often taking them to local baseball games. His passion for athletics was complemented by his career as a skilled electrician, where he worked meticulously to ensure both safety and quality in every job. Martin retired as an industrial electrician from Shell, having dedicated over twenty years to his profession.
In his downtime, Martin avidly followed his favorite baseball and football teams, eagerly discussing game statistics and player performances with his family. He also had a weekly ritual of playing the lottery, dreaming of winning big and the possibilities life could bring.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive in Baytown.
A funeral service will also be held on Friday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive in Baytown.
The interment will follow, via funeral procession, to Cedar Crest Cemetery in Baytown.
