Mechelle Busby, 71, of Baytown, lost her almost 7 year battle with Lung Cancer on Thursday September 9th, 2021 while at home in the comfort of her husband Derek. She was born on Thursday July 7th, 1950, in Sherborne, Dorset, a daughter of the late Apolinary Kurowski and Helena Kurowska.
Growing up, Mechelle lived in a Polish community in England living in Quanset Huts for refugees after World War II where she learned to speak English, then eventually moving into a terrace house in Rugby, England. There she was raised as a devoted Catholic. Mechelle moved to the United States in 1973. While raising three children she also worked for the Amnesty program at Our Lady of Guadalupe church. In 1994 she met her beloved husband Derek and was married on November 9th 1996. Mechelle also became a successful therapist, realtor, and was a volunteer for the local elementary schools. In her free time she enjoyed vacationing with her husband, spending time with family, and spoiling her pets. She was a tremendously strong woman, who had a fierce love for her family.
Mechelle will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother otherwise known as Babcia, and loyal friend. She was a die hard Manchester United fan and crime/mystery show fanatic. Full of beauty and grace, Mechelle always made sure to look and act her best. Always wearing the color red she had a vivacious personality and knew no stranger.
